We Are ARAUCO – A message from Russ Jordan
It’s no secret that this year promises to challenge our industry as a whole, but we remain optimistic about the future. Change is essential for growth.
Arauco is constantly raising the bar for what we can accomplish and how we can achieve better partnerships with you, our customers.
With that in mind, we are poised to leverage the experience and dedication of our teams who are constantly working to improve our operations and customer experience.
Our culture is based on exploring new and innovative ways to add value to your organization. When we say, We are Arauco, we consider it more than a slogan, it’s a commitment to our business principles. It means we are accountable, that we value our partnership, and it means that we are proud to serve you.
Locally, in North America, and globally we continue to build the foundations for a business that is poised for the future.
The NBMDA, our industry’s leading trade association for wholesale distributors, has welcomed Al Murray, ARAUCO’s National Particleboard and TFL Sales Director, to the Board of Directors.
He joins other industry supply and distribution leaders in steering the strategic direction of the association.
Our culture of continuous giving back: Arauco initiates a new program encouraging increased community give-back and interactions.
We are expanding the reach of our community involvement with Arauco Impact. This program provides our employees with opportunities to make an impact through donation of our time, money, and resources towards causes that make our communities, and the world, a better place.
Newsworthy events are happening across the business – in North America, an expansion of our moulding capabilities in our Moncure, NC plant, and a new MDF line in Zitácuaro, Mexico.
In South America, ARAUCO continues to invest in its platforms, the MAPA project nears completion and Chile continues to respond to wildfire situations.
North America
Moncure, NC: We’re very excited to announce the expansion of our Moncure, NC, moulding capabilities with the addition of our third MDF moulding line. With this new state-of-the-art line, we will expand our capacity to offer high quality primed moulding with a short lead time.
This addition represents our commitment to offer our customers the highest level of quality in the market, with the widest breadth of product and with an unmatched level of service by having redundant production in both North and South America.
Zitácuaro, Mexico: We will be adding a new MDF line to our plant in Mexico. This project is expected to add about 300,000 cubic meters of MDF production per year and is slated for completion in 2025. Half of that production total will be TFL laminated to meet the growing demand of the furniture, construction, and interior design industries in Mexico.
South America
Arauco continues to invest in our lumber, moulding, and panel facilities. This commitment moves us to combine creativity, technology, and automation to improve efficiencies and enhance reliability. Examples include modernizing our moulding lines, adding new painting capabilities for plywood products, and more automation for packaging/material handling in all facilities.
We are confident these innovations will provide new and better solutions to meet our customers’ needs while also ensuring social and environmental sustainability
Our teams in Chile are nearing the final milestones for ARAUCO’s MAPA project (Spanish acronym for Modernization and Extension of Arauco Mill project); the world’s most modern pulp mill.
This operation features the latest available environmental and process technologies for efficient and reliable pulp and energy production that will allow the company to continue to generate clean and renewable energy from forest biomass.
As parts of Chile continue to respond to wildfire situations, we actively support firefighting efforts, the surrounding communities, our colleagues, and operations. ARAUCO invests in world-leading prevention and aerial fire-fighting services to deliver protection and control during wildfire seasons.
We recently wrapped a successful CEU on March 1 led by Jonnie Hanks, TFL Design and Market Specialist at Arauco and look forward to the next offering which will take place on April 5. Registration will be available through our website and social channels.

Our Arauco team kicked off 2023 by exhibiting at KBIS. With record-setting numbers of over 100,000 KBIS visitors and 70,000 IBS attendees, the show was incredibly well attended. This allowed us to engage the interest of new visitors and have the opportunity to meet with existing customers. Arauco’s exhibit showcased new designs, the Room Studio visualizer, a millwork product feature wall and composite panel products.
We’re planning to be back in Vegas next year but in a whole new way. Look for us at IBS (NAHB International Builders' Show, February 27-29) where we’re planning for an expanded space to exhibit even more of our product offerings. We hope to see you there!
